Patsy Cline is one of the few country artists that even folks who don’t listen to country music can enjoy. Although something tells me that the owner of this tattoo is probably a country fan.

Here’s another portrait tattoo for you today. This one is of classic rock musician Kurt Cobain. Now before you get all upset I called him classic rock. Remember, when Nirvana came out bands from the late 60s/early 70s were considered classic rock. Well, it’s been over 20 years since Nevermind was released, so to some of the younger ModBlog readers, Nirvana could certainly be considered “Classic”.

Out of all the Pantera related tattoos I’ve seen, this is the first portrait of Phil that has popped up on my radar. The portrait is from a photo taken by John Kaplan for his photo essay “21″.
This was done by Mario Manai Inkstruktor from Tattoo Tiamat in Zadar, Croatia.
I don’t normally do tattoo follow-ups, but in the case of this one I’m going to make an exception. Back in December we got a look at this freshly done portrait of Lemmy.
Unfortunately the glare and the redness detracted from the awesomeness of the portrait. It’s been a couple months now, and it’s all healed up, so here’s how it looks today.
Now that it’s healed you can really get a look at some of the details that were obscured in the first photo. Credit for the tattoo goes to Steven Kerr from Liquorice Tattoo in Kirriemuir, Scotland.
Hard to believe it’s been 14 years since Biggie was killed. His music still lives on, and as long as someone can make money off his memory, there will still be “new” songs published. He’ll also live on in this portrait that Kevin Gordon from Inkaholics in Monroe, NC did on JosephGutshall’s foot.

There are gods that walk amongst us daily. One of those gods is the one and only Lemmy Kilmister. Not only is he one of the greatest metal singers to ever grace the planet, he’s also got a style of facial hair named after him. Here he is immortalized on skin by Steven Kerr from Liquorice Tattoo in Kirriemuir, Scotland.
If you’re wondering why I posted this today, well tomorrow happens to be Lemmy’s 65th birthday. Plus today is going to be somewhat festive, so to get you in the mood, here’s Lemmy, Billy Gibbons, and Dave Grohl doing Run Run Rudolph.
While perusing the tattoo portrait galleries looking for potential modblog features I saw a TON of amazing portraits done by Javier (Jade) Campos at Arte Sagrado Tattoo in Lima, Peru. Seriously check out the gallery, then check out the shops web site. In the gallery there were portraits of Jim Morrison, Scott Weiland and about a dozen others. I of course, picked my personal favorite artist of the bunch, Mike Ness to feature here.
A lot of people tend to label me a redneck, seeing as how I have portraits of a lot of country music singers and the like tattooed all over my leg. Truth be told though, I love me some Dr. Dre and would definitely consider a portrait of him at some point. So I was stoked to see this well done portrait of him and Snoop.
