You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive….

..so why would you get magnetic implants without giving them a try right away?

These magnetic implants were done by alienboy, who you may remember from one of his many modblog features or this interview.

On a side note: These magnetic implants were a fairly recent submission so I assume they are the newer generation of magnets that have not been known to have the same coating failure issues the initial batch did.

From The Vault: Male Breast Implants

By Sean Philips • Jan 18th, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

There is an age old debate on BME as to whether or not breast implants fall into the same category of body modification as the mods more frequently covered on BME. The point that is usually argued is that breast implants are done to fit into societies ideals, whereas tattoos and piercings are more or a rebellion to those same ideals. Of course, since those original arguments were made tattoos and piercings have become a major part of mainstream society. Whether it be the extremely common piercings or the tattoo imagery that is now printed on everything from t-shirts to high end purses, our subculture is quickly being integrated into mainstream culture.

Well these pictures certainly qualify as body modification, by any sense of the definition. A masculine appearing man getting breast implants, now that is going against societies norm! Well unless you do it for money.

These pictures were submitted in 2004 by IAM:manybodiedman (who no longer appears to be on IAM).

Is that a threat or a promise?

By Rachel • Dec 7th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

Dark Freak is certainly looking the part for his IAM name. Thiago Marzano snapped this shot of him in Brasil and it definitely doesn’t change my opinion that all of the BME Brasilian members are either heavily modded, good looking or both. 2010 is going to be a busy year because I already have plans to go to Japan, Italy and most certainly I’ll be heading to Brasil. I’m hoping we can put together a big Brasilian BME BBQ because that would be tons of fun. I can only imagine what beautiful tropical setting we can fill with BME’ers!

Point At My Spots

By Jordan Ginsberg • Oct 9th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

The last time we featured Lewis Dodd here on ModBlog, we were all admiring his fantastic back-piece, but did you know Mr. Dodd is a body modification practitioner (at Glorybound Tattoo in Exmouth, UK), too? (Well, yeah, you almost surely did.) With that said, here’s a silicone finger implant done by him, one month old in this photo. We’ve seen trans/microdermals in this area before that have healed well, but—and this is just our own typical discomfort talking, here—we can’t help but think something like this would drive us crazy. But hey, in terms of the inherent problems and difficulties working in such a small area and given that it looks relatively happy a month into the healing process? We give this one an “A” for effort at the very least.

One Way Or Another

By Jordan Ginsberg • Sep 17th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

So, we’ve featured Jusn (more) and Lilli (cupcake!) on here separately as of late, but, hey, it is a crime and an abomination to not show these kids off together. Sure, it’s not the same without someone’s dad being hoodwinked or some evil chocolate monster, but this is one handsome pair nonetheless. If you only let one photo on the internets melt your heart today, let it be this one.

Wherever You Go

And so, continuing today’s impressive streak of highly pleasant young women—a rarity around these parts, we know—here we have Mindi, the pride of Brisbane, sporting, well…a lot of pretty excellent looking work, to be honest, and can count among the contributing artists the eminently talented jOELTRON and Brendan, the latter of whom we’ve noted here a few times lately. This, then? A lovely collision of some of our recent favorites. We love it when a plan comes together.

Red Sweat

By Jordan Ginsberg • Sep 8th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

We do our best to give credit where it’s due whenever possible when we feature folks on ModBlog, but sometimes, if only a little information is included with people’s photo submissions, there’s only so much we can do. This, unfortunately, is one of those times, as the only supplementary information accompanying this series of shots was a mention that they came from Japan. But, hey, when you’ve got a bunch of good looking implants (the eye implant after the jump is pretty intense) like this, you just put it out there and hope someone claims it. Until that day, though, thank you, stranger! As mentioned, more after the jump.

An Unnnoticed Breeze

By Jordan Ginsberg • Sep 3rd, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

Greetings, friends! The inimitable Steve Haworth checks in with this photo of his old friend Oak, the co-owner (along with his wife, Bleu) of Painted Temple in Provo, Utah (which Steve calls “one of the more amazing tattoo shops [he's] been in, both in artists and beauty”), sporting brand new rows of spines in his forearm, courtesy of Steve. The horns, though? All natural, shockingly.

Complication With My Complication

By Jordan Ginsberg • Aug 17th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

Continuing on with today’s trend of featuring folks who surely complain about the heat much less than I do, here we have xFABIx, coming live and direct (?) straight from Natal, Brazil. What’s not to like here, folks? Lovely model, healthy piercings all over the damn place, clean tattoo work, a nice set of subtle implants—if this isn’t doing it for you, Dr. Ginsberg recommends you check yourself for heat stroke, which you almost surely have.

Baby, Let’s Transverberate

By Jordan Ginsberg • Aug 4th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog

It’s always a joy when supremely talented artists also have the presence of mind (and talent) to send in great photos too, is it not? Needless to say, we were tickled to get this shot of Dani Danger, courtesy of the hot-handed Steve Haworth and featuring custom ear jewelry and an implant by the man himself. Plus, of course, we also get to use our “Hearty Mohawks” tag for the second time in two weeks, and that, well…that’s just swell.
