A BMEGirl kind of day. Meet SaschaMein.

Derezzed

By Rob • Aug 23rd, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

First, I hope that everyone on the east coast is safe and secure after that shake-up that just hit Richmond.  I know a lot of IAM members live in the area close to the epicenter, including Rachel at BMEHQ.

Now then, as his name implies, Joeltron is a big fan of Tron.  How big you ask?  Well take a look at this Tron Recognizer tattoo on the side of his skull.

Naith from Absolution in New Zealand did this while at a guest spot in Sydney at First Blood.

Hello Micro-Kitty

By Rob • Jun 16th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

I will never doubt this woman’s commitment to sparkle motion ever again. I know some pretty intense Hello Kitty fans, but to get that many microdermals in the shape of said kitty is beyond what any of them would do.  This is fandom.  Take note, she also has Hello Kitty plugs, and those cheek piercings are pretty cute too.

Bart Bastiaanse from Tribal Trading Tilburg in The Netherlands painstaking crafted this portrait out of 75 individual microdermals.  My count may be wrong, so if your eyesight is better than mine, go ahead and count them.  Bart uploaded a few pictures of this project, including some of him in action.  They’re located in the Tribal Trading Portfolio Gallery.

Feeling Cheeky

By Rob • May 25th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

There’s something to be said for a girl with no other visible modifications other than a pair of cheek piercings.

From the looks of it SilyKim may only have a single ear piercing as well.  Regardless, cheek piercings like this are normally seen on people who have at least some other visible modifications, so it’s a rare treat to see them pulled off with a simple elegance like she does here.

She and Him

By Rob • Apr 22nd, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

You can’t go wrong with a couple of modified hotties steaming up your computer screen on a Friday.

The young lady on the right is Peanog, and the gent on the left is the lucky guy she calls “Him”.

These lovebirds have a few photos up in the tattoo galleries if you want to get a better look at them.

Filling in the holes

By Rob • Apr 1st, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

We’ve seen earlobe reconstructions.  We’ve seen tongue split reversals.  Isn’t it time we see something else?  How about repairing up the divots left behind by facial piercings?  In this case, cheek piercings.  Leave it to Samppa to come up with a way to do it.

On the right is one of the holes before the repair, and the left is just after it had been closed up.

And here is the end result..

While there is still a small mark, unless you’re looking for it you would never suspect a hole had been there.

Samppa’s US tour is still underway, so get in touch with him if you have any facial holes you want fixed up.

Also, keep an eye on ModBlog.  Next week we’re going to take a look at his navel removal procedure, including step-by-step photos.

Turning the other cheek

By Rob • Feb 16th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

One of the rarer piercings that pop up in the galleries are dahlia piercings.  While we see cheek piercings from time to time, dahlias seem to not be as prevalent.  Below is a young lady sporting dahlias by Brian Sane from Sink the Ink in Doylestown, PA.

You can see more of this beauty in the cheek piercing gallery.

I’m pretty sure she’s wearing false eyelashes, because if she isn’t I know a bunch of people who will be extremely jealous.

For love…

By Rob • Feb 14th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Well to wrap up today’s “love” theme, here’s a couple of IAMers, who met and fell in love thanks to BME.

On the right is ILoveHanson, and on the left is Adrian.

They’re just one of many happy couples that have met through BME.  You can see more in the couples who met through BME gallery.

Have a happy Valentine’s day everyone.

Hanging on the telephone

By Rob • Jan 31st, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

In a piece reminiscent of Banksy’s works, Jon Goad from Alter Ego Tattoo in Knoxville, TN tattooed this unorthodox design on “abiftw”’s hand.  With the majority of palm tattoos being a design centralized in the middle of the palm, the off center phone booth, combined with the unique placements of the birds really make this a piece of art.

There are a few more photos of this lovely young woman and her hand in the hand tattoo gallery.

Ear pointing redux

By Rob • Dec 9th, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

To some, getting their ears pointed is one of the last steps they can take with their upper ear.  Well Zephyr*Elf here has shown us that not only was she not finished with her ear pointing, she also intended to get them pointed a second time.  Back in July she had the opportunity to meet up with Efix Roy and have her ears pointed for the second time.  The initial pointing was done by Lukas Zpira, who did a fantastic job, but for the look Zephyr was going for a second pointing was necessary, as you can see by just how pointed the end result is.  In addition to the second pointing, he also scalpeled her lobes, with her 20mm lobe going to 1 inch, and her reconstructed lobe being reopened to 10mm.  So, now that a few months have passed, you can see just how well everything healed up.

If you want to see photos of the ears just after the procedure, you can find them on her IAM page.
