Mama Says!

By David Vidra • Jul 10th, 2008 • Category: David Vidra

Hi folks! Jordan Ginsberg here, filling in for David while he does his chin-ups and lunges in preparation for his new column here at BME. We’re privileged to have David with us: A 30-year (!) veteran of the body modification industry, David has seen it all. And done it all. Twice. You know, just to make sure.

(Among his many accomplishments: Getting fired from a Catholic summer camp for having sex with the camp leader’s secretary, a Franciscan monk; piercing in a time when a piercer’s gloves were made of chain-mail; and having nipple piercings older than most of BME’s readership.)

David now divides his time between nursing and running Health Educators, an organization dedicated to educating the international body modification community about urgent health matters and doling out tips about how to be as safe and responsible as possible — as clients and practitioners alike.

Unfortunately, David can’t be everywhere at once, so to close the gap, he wants your questions.

About what? Well, safety issues, for one. Advice about post-procedural problems? Sure. But be creative — David’s knowledge base is broad, he pulls no punches, and God knows he’s not shy. If you were role-playing last weekend and you’re still peeling off strips of that papier-mache pirate hat from your privates, there’s a good chance David can recommend a gentle soap for you.

In the mean time, send your questions to me, Jordan, at jordan@bmezine.com. I’ll pass them on to the man himself, and you should be seeing him occupying his rightful space here very, very shortly.
