BME Pubic Piece Update

I’ve posted on Mateo’s BME logo pubic scar previously, which has been getting augmented with a growing and glowing aura of dotwork ink geometry by Jodi Lyford of Chimera (chimeratattoo.com) in Santa Cruz. She’s recently done more work on it, and it’s absolutely stunning. And the best thing about it is that it has an extremely realistic beard! But seriously, along with Keff’s dotwork BME logo sleeve and Joeltron’s BME logo backpiece, Matteo’s easily earns a place in my shortlist of best BME-themed body art.

On a barely related note, speaking of Mateo, that reminds me I’ve been meaning to post a picture of the great nostril jewelry that Pauly Unstoppable was wearing in his latest pictures (the connection is that Mateo has done many of Pauly’s piercings). It almost looks like the coils that the Kayan people wear around their necks, and to my surprise is a look that I rarely see even though it’s quite beautiful.

BME logo vs. Jodi Lyford

I love the way Mateo (a regular here on ModBlog) is integrating his BME logo with the new geometric work being done by Jodi Lyford of Chimera Tattoo Studio & Gallery (chimeratattoo.com) in Santa Cruz. This is just the very start of the session and the very beginning of what I’m sure will be a great addition to Mateo’s already impressive collection of body art.

A Mantis Piercing Trend?

I love that whenever an odd piercing that works aesthetically is done, there are always a rapid-fire set of them that follow around the world. First we saw the ones from Massimo Cortese in Naples (who dubbed it the “Mantis”), and then not long afterward Pauly got them from Mateo Way (calling his “The Devil’s Threeway”), and now Luis Garcia has done a set, calling them simply “forward facing nostrils”. These are pictured here.

Brian Skellie reminded me that his wife Sandrine has had these piercings for over a decade (self-done), which I should have remembered when I met her back then here in Toronto (Caitlin is still mad at me because I let them smoke in my house but not her). Sandrine’s are the oldest that I can think of in the modern piercing scene. Each of these individuals wears the piercings slightly differently. Pauly and the Greek client fit them into a collection of very heavy facial work, Luis’s client balances them off of a pair of high nostrils, and Sandrine makes them work with the daintiest of beads — actually 1.5mm diamonds from NeoMetal. You wouldn’t think that such an odd piercing would be so aesthetically successful, but it is.

It should be noted that this piercing also has a solid pedigree in a number of indigenous societies.

The Devil’s Three-Way

Following up on the “Mantis Piercing” nasal tip piercing that I posted a few days ago, Pauly Unstoppable Mowery had Mateo Way of Way Body Arts in Santa Cruz do what they are calling “The Devil’s Three-Way” on his nose. Since Pauly has massive stretched piercings, there are of course a few ways this could have been done (it could have come out of the septum like septrils do for example), but unless I’m mistaken, these are three microdermals, [EDIT: I am mistaken! They are neometal barbells, coming through from inside the nose!] which he’s looking forward to getting some bling for when they’re nice and healed. I constantly enjoy Pauly — he is always uniquely beautiful, and always finds new ways to express his character.

“it smells like a turd covered in burnt hair!”

I had to steal the title for this post directly from xomateos’s diary entry about the procedure. How could I possibly come up with a better title than that?

Anyhow, xomateo originally had these scars cut/removed by the talented John Joyce. A year later he had his lovely koala go back over the scars with a cautery pen to retouch the scar and hopefully kill off the follicles that regrew. This was her first time using a cautery pen and it looks like she did a damn fine job!

Apparently they plan to make these scars a yearly tradition. I suggested next year they try cold branding, because if it doesn’t kill the follicles it will likely make them grow in white and that is cool all in and of itself! So we shall see what 2011 and on brings for Mateo’s head!

For a few more shots of the procedure and finished result, keep on keeping on.

I bought my very first cautery pen from BME Shop several years ago. They don’t sell them anymore, but they do sell a TON of other rad stuff for the body mod aficionado or DIY modder. Rachel has extended the 30% off sale at BME shop  until April 6th! It is good for everything but anesthetics, scalpels and dermal punches and all you have to do to take advantage of this is use the coupon code “worldtour” when ordering!

Happy Holidays!

xomateo & gogo_savvy are just one example of couple who met through BME. Are you? If so, we’ve got a section for that so submit your photos! Love is definitely in the air in Santa Cruz, CA and that goes along great for the holidays. I hope you’re all with someone you love and can spend the holidays with them.

I’ll stop being gushy, I just can’t help it because they’re so darn cute and naked!

Pedal Power

xomateo is definitely a Modblog regular. His newest mods are by Katie Gray at Chimera Tattoo & Studio. He has pretty nicely kept toes for being a pretty tough dude. I’m going to say he’s secure enough in his manhood that he’d probably go get a pedicure with me if I asked him to go. We could go to yogurtland afterward.

Push me pull me

XoMateo sent in some photos of very hot man slaves. The guy being pulled is absolutely JACKED. They said this was Halloween fun but I’d definitely like to know exactly how one could acquire all three of these boys. Who wants to throw in with me? They’re in Santa Cruz, so it’s close enough for me!

One more photo after the jump.

This is probably my last post until Monday. I’ll try and post some more shots from Hawai’i and from Tim’s wedding. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be able to snag some more tattooers for interviews while we’re all out here. Here is to hoping! Thanks again for supporting BME and have a great weekend!

“Hang Out With Your Daikon Out!”

Oh hey, here is some sexy fun-time! Renowned produce aficionado, Mateo (top right), is up to his old tricks using vegetables and such for reasons other than God intended (adorning sacrifices). This time, he is hanging out with people are going to be his roommates soon, apparently! Convenient that they all enjoy covering their sinful bits with veggies. Another shot of Mateo and a strategically placed gourd, after the jump.
