Oh hey, it’s Candice, “ridin’ dirty,” as the kids say. Wait, do the kids say that? I haven’t a chance to peruse that LP on the gramophone yet. One thing grandpa Jordan does know, however, is that that’s some beautiful ebony ear jewelry.
I stumbled across this video today and realised it was never posted, it’s almost a year old (as is evident by the rather dated watermark) but still worth an airing!
I’ll leave it up to John Harrold to explain..
“I’m a Peace Corps volunteer currently serving in Samoa. Two friends (other volunteers) and myself decided to get traditional tattoos.
My roommate and I had ours done this weekend — simple leg bands around our ankles.
My other friend Candice is scheduled to get a malu. That’s the traditional tattoo that girls get on their upper legs. I’m planning on photographing it and recording the audio of the session (if I can get a directional mic). I’m going to combine it with other singing I’ve recorded while here into a short movie..”
… and then give Daniel a pretty sweet makeover. (Actually, did that, in addition to taking the photo.)

Candice recently did a photoshoot with Ashley at Savage Skin for a magazine cover and article. She says,
Now, I have seen some of the pictures of “big” guys on ModBlog, but none are as big as my dear friend, who happens to be a champion bodybuilder from Lithuania and who is my personal trainer — imagine the two of us in the gym!
Candice also did the tribalwork on his back (and Andro did the biomech). You can click this first picture for a poster-sized version and there are a couple more after the break.
I’ve posted Andro and his top-notch work before, so I hope he’s not too mortified that I included this piece (sent in by CrustPictures), which I like a lot on a design level but appears to include a rather unfortunate blow-out on the shoulder! [Edit/Update: this blow-out was intentional and part of the piece; see the comments for more.] I like how it crosses through the front of the ear — it also goes right down her arm (check her page for more photos).
Candice, a [mainstream] modified model friend of BME who I’ve been featuring here periodically for years now (1 2 3 4 5), sends in this photo from a high profile fashion shoot she just did for the British Hair Awards.
Today Toronto is covered in a thick layer of snow. Argentina, on the other hand, is enjoying its southern hemisphere summer — this photo of Lilitu (I love her leg tattoo!) was taken by Antonio Florez, whose work I’ve featured before.
