Alright, we’re screwed

By Rob • Oct 25th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Zombies are one thing.  But nowhere in any of my outbreak plans have I taken into account flying zombies.

That flying zombie is JakeMindsnared, doing a guerrilla superman suspension at a zombie walk.

Here’s some interesting play piercings from Kaktus in France.  According to the description, they used 40 piercings to secure the balloons in place.

Rise Above

By Rob • Oct 25th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Tattoos can have intensely personal significance to those who get them.  We all know this.  This particular tattoo by Jackie Rabbit is one of those.  The owner is a friend of Jackie’s who has led a life of hardship and struggle.  However at this point in his life things are finally looking up, and this tattoo celebrates that.  It is meant to symbolize him rising above his struggles, becoming a better person because of them.

Jackie works at Star City Tattoos in Roanoke, VA.

Hands Free

By Rob • Oct 24th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

2 weeks ago I promised that you’d be seeing some photos from The Piercing Urge in Melbourne, Australia.  Well today you’ve already seen two by Frederick Bain, and now here’s something from the man himself, “Piercing” Pete Sheringham.  I’m not sure how old the tattooed hand is, but it appears much older than the fresh scarification piece.  Also note the ring finger has a band on it, possibly making the scar one inspired by love.

Cherry Red Fox

By Rob • Oct 24th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Fun fact:  There is a type of fruit known as fox cherry tomatoes.  There is also a burlesque dancer known as Cherry Fox.  It’s amazing the difference in search results that one gets by simply changing the order of the words.  Well, now that I’ve written this up you can expect to see this post added as search results for both combinations.  Of course none of this really matters once you see this incredible fox tattoo by Frederick Bain from The Piercing Urge in Melbourne.

Blassting off

By Rob • Oct 24th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Alright, so I made a vow to never use a “In Soviet Russia” joke, and I still intend to keep that vow.  The only reason I’m mentioning it is because of this suspension.  From what I can recall up until a few months ago the only people who have been featured doing an ass suspension were men.  Since then Moscow’s Sinner Team has had a number of women suspending from their posteriors.  That all said, here’s yet another Sinner doing a single point asstronaut suspension.

Guess What?

By Rob • Oct 24th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

You know the drill.  No cropping this time, and no piercings either.  Can you guess where these bits of body parts come from?

Think you know?  Take a guess and read on to see if you’re right.

A blast from the past

By Rob • Oct 24th, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Do not adjust your screen.  What you are seeing isn’t a real saber tooth tiger skull, nor is it an oil pastel recreation.  It’s a fantastic tattoo from Frederick Bain.

The Other Friday Follow-up

By Rob • Oct 21st, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

Like I promised earlier, here’s the second of today’s scarification follow-up posts.  This particular scarification was also done by Richard Effin Ivey, only this one is on his North Carolina loving girlfriend and features a stargazer lily on top of the outline of the state.

That’s how it looked a couple of months ago, and here’s how it looks today.

Now the reason that I did two follow-up posts today is because it’s one of those rare times that we have scars that were not only done by the same artist, but also done at around the same time.  It gives us the chance to see just how differently each person scars.

Head on over to Richard’s BME portfolio gallery to see these scars side-by-side.

The Friday Follow-up

By Rob • Oct 21st, 2011 • Category: ModBlog

We’ve got a double shot of follow-ups today, both about 2-3 months old and both by The Reverend Richard Effin Ivey.  This first one is a weeping willow with the logo for the Church of Body Modification incorporated into the trunk.  Here’s how it looked back in the summer…

And here’s how it looks today..
