They’re getting hitched!

By Rob • Dec 27th, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

I heard on the radio last week that christmas eve is the #1 day of the year for wedding proposals.  Sure enough, this christmas that held true and a couple of IAM members got engaged.  Now, you’ve seen Dirk and JackeeLynn on here before, most recently in their christmas photos.  Now if you don’t know these two, not only do they send in a lot of photos to BME, but they’re also part of the Local Hookers suspension crew.  Here’s a couple of photos from their last halloween bash.  (You can find a lot more in the Local Hookers gallery).

Here’s Dirk enjoying a beer after lifting a cinderblock by his neck.  He also happens to be taking a beating from some lightbulbs.

As for Jackee, she spent the night hanging out with another Local Hooker, Inhale-Exhale.

Of course the best part of getting engaged is the story behind it.  Now I wasn’t there, but from what I understand Dirk surprised her with the ring and something else in a box…

Congrats you two!  When do I get my invitation?

Socks and Underwear

By Rob • Dec 27th, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

For a lot of people, the holidays are nearly over.  In another week the kids will be back to school, and a number of us will be nursing some major new year hangovers.  But that’s all still a week away.  Let’s take a quick look back at this past weekend where those ModBlog readers who celebrate christmas in some form woke up to find presents under the tree from old St. Nick.  Did you get anything noteworthy?  Or was this year just a socks and underwear kind of year?

For Kwzl, it looks like he got some new underoos this year.

Of course, with this being ModBlog, you’re probably wondering what the other side looks like.  Or hey, you may even want to know what’s underneath.

Keep reading if you’re curious.

Santa likes suspensions too!

By Jen • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

Bet you didn’t know Santa was down with suspensions?

I’m not sure if the group at this event is called Escape Suspension but the photos all carry that title. It took me a minute to notice the lights in “Santa’s” nipples! I think I was focused on the beard… I guess if that’s Santa in the first picture then maybe we’ve got one of his elves suspending in this next one?

I don’t know about you but I think this looks like one fun event! I wish I could have been there.

Alright folks, enjoy yourselves this weekend and be safe. I’ll be back with a book review sometime very soon and Sean promises some great stuff in the new year so keep your eyes on ModBlog and enjoy the last few days of 2010!

Underneath the mistletoe

By Rob • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

While the holidays may be over for some, for others they’re just about to hit the boiling point.  When you take away the presents, the lights, the overt religious symbolisms, what you’re left with is the time of year that you and your loved ones can get together.  Take Sloppynobody and Stainedskin1982, these two lovebirds are engaged to be married, and judging by this photo are pretty happy with each other.  So while you may not be in the same place as these two, take some time over the next little while and spend some time with those who mean the most to you.

On a side note, there won’t be any updates tomorrow, so if you’re celebrating christmas this weekend, or some other holiday, enjoy your weekend, and be safe.

Oh, and if you don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve yet, BME is hosting a bash at BME Headquarters just outside Richmond, VA.  Check the event page for all the details.  Hope to see you there!

Peace on Earth…

By Rob • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

While many people are focused on all the glitz and glamor of the holidays, for some this time of year is about reflection.  To look back at the year and take it all in.  Amidst all the hustle and bustle too many of us can get swept up, forgetting to take some time to ourselves and just breathe.  Take INvalidSYNapse here.   After finishing up a fairly large scarification piece, he’s taking a moment of quiet reflection.  You can see in his face the satisfaction that he must be feeling for having gone through the process of the cutting and come out on the other side closer with himself that he may have ever been before.

So remember to take some time for yourself over the coming weeks.  And just live in a moment, even if it’s just a brief one, letting all your cares float away and giving yourself some peace.

Let it snow

By Rob • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

Those of us who grew up in a climate that allowed for snowfall can probably remember a time when catching a snowflake on your tongue was a rite of passage.  Sure it may seem childish and silly now, but I’m willing to bet back when you were bundled up in your snowsuit, barely able to move your limbs, the sheer joy of trying to catch a big fluffy snowflake was the highlight of your day.

Judging by this photo, I’d say Chiiby was definitely one of those kids who loved to catch snowflakes.  Now with his horizontal tongue piercing, he’s got multiple targets to try to land a snowflake on.

The piercer for this particular tongue was Yohann from Angel Tattoo in Nice.

It’s time to open your presents

By Rob • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

Everyone loves opening presents.  Be it birthdays, or some form of holiday, the anticipation of not knowing what’s inside the box that’s all wrapped up with your name on it, is just a whole lot of fun.  So ModBlog, here’s a gift you get to open.  It’s addressed to BME, and without you, BME wouldn’t be around so you get the honors of opening it.  I hope you enjoy it, it’s hand made!

Open Me First!

No guessing games here, just rip into that wrapping paper to see what you’ve got!

The Lemmy

By Rob • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

There are gods that walk amongst us daily.  One of those gods is the one and only Lemmy Kilmister.  Not only is he one of the greatest metal singers to ever grace the planet, he’s also got a style of facial hair named after him.  Here he is immortalized on skin by Steven Kerr from Liquorice Tattoo in Kirriemuir, Scotland.

If you’re wondering why I posted this today, well tomorrow happens to be Lemmy’s 65th birthday.  Plus today is going to be somewhat festive, so  to get you in the mood, here’s Lemmy, Billy Gibbons, and Dave Grohl doing Run Run Rudolph.

The lady likes to accessorize

By Rob • Dec 22nd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

Admit it, you’d love to walk around with 2 gorgeous BMEBoys hanging off you at all times.  There to do whatever your heart desires.  Of course it’s not often one gets to carry out that fantasy, unless of course you’re this girl…

As for the breakdown on the tattoos, they go as follows.

Shane (the gentleman with the longer hair):  All work done at Tattoo City in Wellington, NZ

David: Left sleeve by Gill, and right sleeve by Chaz and Gill, both from Gill Tattoo in NZ

Now because these photos fall into multiple galleries, which is one of the newer features to BME, your best bet is to just check them all out.

Something to keep you warm on a chilly night

By Rob • Dec 22nd, 2010 • Category: ModBlog

Here’s a couple of lovely ladies that should help keep you warm on those long cold winter nights.

First we have gypsyqueen with a floral chestpiece by Shane Barlow from Oni in Salt Lake City.

Next is an in-progress sleeve by Roland Paabo from Auriga Tattoo in Tallinn, Estonia.

Don’t worry, there’s going to be some boys coming up in about an hour for you.
