Well, June is just around the corner but there’s just enough time for one last news post before the end of May.  I want to start by giving a big thank you to this week’s news submitters:  ArtieKGB, Botexty, piratevicious, and nexizydrate.  The more stories people submit in, the better a job I can do to bring these stories to our Modblog readers.

With last week being a banner week for negative stories in the news, I thought it would be good to take a week and focus on some of the less violent stories that made the news.

To start, we have a marine stationed in Afghanistan who decided to get a tattoo of “the hottest cougar in the Republican party“.

“On the way back, I decided I wanted to get a tattoo that reminded me of Alaska, because we really had a good time,” said Lepping, currently attached to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines. “I decided, ‘What could be better than getting a tattoo of the hottest cougar in the Republican Party?’”

Jamie Mayhem!!!!!! Her answers were flawless and best of all she wrote out the answers so well, I can cut and paste most of hers when I post the answers later!

When I went to Jamie’s page to tell her she won, I saw this picture of some cops watching a pulling “just to check it out”. Back in the day at a BME Social I threw at my old place in Maryland, we had some cops come out because they heard we were “hanging people”. They came out and were a bit weirded out by it, but all in all they were respectful and just reminded us to be done by 11pm when the noise ordinance kicked in. Luckily for all involved they came when they did and not during the group genital pull that also took place at the same event!

Check out this awesome tattoo by Rain Partlow out of Under the Needle in Seattle, WA! All of my tattoo work is done in black and grey but I’ve always admired really vivid colours in tattoos and this one in particular is extremely eye catching. The shading in particular really stands out. I bet the wearer of this one turns a few heads!

As an “old fart” by the piercing industries standard, I have a high appreciation for things in the modern history of body modification.  In talking with lots of young piercers and modification fans I am often shock and saddened by their total lack of knowledge (and to some degree lack of caring) about  where this community came from. This is why I try and do From The Vault features to show readers some of what happened pre-modblog.

Anyhow, I used to post these trivias on my iam page, with random prizes and I thought it would be fun to post them here occasionally as well.  I don’t have much in the way of a prize to offer, but whomever gets all the answers in first (or in the event no one gets them all right whoever gets the most correct this weekend) can either have a feature on themselves, or an artist or friend of their choice on modblog.

Radiobath sends us this colourful Betta inked by Lauchie from Visible Ink in Saugus, MA. Ok, I apologize for the title of this entry. I couldn’t help myself. I really love the vibrancy of a fresh tattoo and the purple shades in this one are gorgeous.

Before you ask, no, I don’t know who Ben Compton is. Nor do I know where this little piggy went, or if it went voluntarily or accidentally. I do however know that this is my new favorite amputation related tattoo.

PS: Yes, the (unrelated) amputee interview is coming, I had a program crash and had to start back at square one, but it is underway!

The look on silentstingray’s face says it all doesn’t it?  That’s a 3 inch plug made of olive wood.  I’m not up on my woods so I don’t know how heavy it is but that’s got to have some weight to it!  And you know what they say, every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man!
