VIMBY Video: Paul Booth
By Jordan Ginsberg • Jan 17th, 2009 • Category: ModBlog
Friend of BME, Ary from VIMBY Video, just sent us this new piece profiling a man who needs no introduction, Paul Booth, at his Last Rites studio in New York City. Paul discusses trades he’s made for tattoo work (example: a torture chair), tattooing rock stars, shows off “Skeleton Christ,” and more.
Jordan Ginsberg is the former managing editor and head writer for BME.

That studio is fucking awesome
Good video - Shame we don’t see the finished tattoo, I was looking forward to that.
i LOVE Paul Booth<3
WICKED!!
I have an entire backpiece by Booth.. very cool. All I did was sign up and 2 years later I get the call, that’s it.
Wonderful & awesome & fantastic & wish I was there.

I haVE HAD HIM , HES NICE ;)
SEXUALY i MEAN , NOT tattoo’s.
Paul is a sweetheart. I don’t know if he’d appreciate me blowing up any spooky image he has, but it’s true. He is just still a kid who wants to be Hallowe’en every day. I love him.
[...] Luckily though this email finally came through and I wanted to share it with you. It seems that the artists Last Rights Tattoo Theatre are having a suprise walk in only day! This includes all of their artists as well as Paul Booth! This is your chance to get a tattoo without having to be on the extended waiting list that all of these artists have been blessed with. While there is a typical “convention etiquette” to their event, with a “first come first served” and 3 hour appointment limits as someone who shared a booth with Paul Booth back in 1999, I can tell you I’ve watched him free hand sketch and draw a full forearm tattoo a few short hours! You’ll be bound to get a tattoo to remember at this event! Don’t forget to check out the Vimby video posted about Paul Booth right here on BME. [...]
Oh my God! The studio is so clandestine. You were definitely not kidding about it being “the atmosphere”. It is so artistically enriched that you get the whole vibe of everything when you are actually sitting down getting your ink done.
