    Sarah - You may not realize this living in the UK, but Americans spell many words differently than you did, and the spelling she’s used is not only correct, but the worldwide dominant spelling.

    I thought it was spelt wrong too (we spell it ‘Neighbour’ in New Zealand too) but I don’t think you could classify ‘Neighbor’ as the worldwide dominant spelling for it, it’s hard to say considering how fucked up the English language is becoming now thanks to text and abbrieviated words :S
