  1. Going down, going down, going down…

Oh, if ever a set of fans and a club deserved each other is it Dennis Wise, Ken Bates and Leeds United.

Altogether now: “we all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, Leeds and Leeds and Leeds and Leeds….”

Sorry, I don’t know what came over me there…

  2. Personally, me being English I’m offended that you would call Football “soccer,” and I don’t like football lol, imagine how this guy feels!

  3. i saw this and immediately thought “somebody should warn shannon about his choice of terminology…”

lo and behold, i’m not the only one.

  4. Football is a way of life. I’m always banging on about the ‘yid army’ (Tottenham Hotspur for those who don’t know), but I don’t think I could have my face tattooed with the clubs crest. And it would be nice to see Leads back in the prem, then watch them go down again. lol

  5. Shauny – Telling me the terminology is wrong is like arguing about whether I should be using British or American… Doesn’t make any difference to me as long as it’s clear what’s being talked about… and I assume no one was confused.

  6. Shauny you tackled the ‘soccer’ point, what about the british part. He’s got the 3 lions on his forehead.

  7. Why would you suppose he was a hooligan? Surely Modblog regulars aren’t judging someone on their appearance… tut tut… :p

  8. Wow. Those comments are a typical knee-jerk reaction load of tosh (strong language for me).

I had the pleasure of chatting with the guy and you’d be hard pushed to find a more friendly, well-mannered, well spoken guy. Don’t let looks fool you folks.

By the way (for #2), being English, he has ‘England’ on the back of his neck!

  9. Leeds! United! Leeds! United!

#1. Our downfall is one of the greatest tragedies in the modern game. And were not the same team that everyone learned to hate so leave us alone.

I think the old white rose badge would have fitted better with the rest of his stuff but oh well…

  10. the colors are nice but this looks bad on the face, it doesnt compliment his looks as a facial tatooo should.

  11. no 5 I totally agree!! Its football damn you!! American football is rugby for pussys.

  12. Ok its football because we invented it therefore the original name sticks. American football is just wimpy rugby – you know its true lol.
Thats what i call dedication hehehe

  13. If (American) football is for pussies, then soccer is for cowards. At least football is a game where the players play to win, rather than play not to lose.

Disclaimer: I do not enjoy watching or keeping up on any professional sport, including football and soccer.

  14. It confused a lot people here when I would refer to football, so I’m glad there’s another term for americans “soccer” so I don’t have all the time to mime what I call by football.

  15. #23, I’m confussed! How is football (soccer) for cowards? Play not to lose? eh, I don’t get that. You play to win, but if both teams are equally metched then you get a draw. It’s the beautiful game, the most popular game in the world. All you need is two shirts and a ball and you have a game. I’m sorry for really going off topic on this site. :p

  16. “You play to win, but if both teams are equally metched then you get a draw.”

Exactly my point. I’ve seen soccer games where the players are just playing keep away until the clock runs out, rather than actually going for a win. That’s a coward’s game.

BTW, I was just being facetious in my original post in response to 5, 19 & 21

  17. Shannon Larratt; “Shauny – Telling me the terminology is wrong is like arguing about whether I should be using British or American… Doesn’t make any difference to me as long as it’s clear what’s being talked about… and I assume no one was confused”

You are wrong shannon, wrong wrong wrong

  18. oh, and #14, the term hooligan here refers to a term for a football/soccer fan, not a hooligan/punk/fuckhead like in american vernacular

  19. In response to Shannon if he reads this, I maent my comment in a light hearted “im English and we are the best” kinda way 🙂

Didn’t mean to offend, I’ll use more “Lols” next time to make it clear lol!

  20. Hahahahaha Leeds United…. fucking piss poor club.

NO ONE LIKES US, NO ONE LIKES US, NO ONE LIKES US AND WE DON’T CARE, WE ARE MILLWALL, MIGHTY MILLWALL, WE ARE MILLWALL FROM THE DEN!

  21. Here we go with Leeds United
We’re gonna give the boys a hand
Stand up and sing for Leeds United
They are the greatest in the land

Every day, we’re all gonna say
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds
    Everywhere, we’re gonna be there
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds
    Marching on together
We’re gonna see you win (na, na, na, na, na, na)
    We are so proud
    We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds

We’ve been through it all together
    And we’ve had our up’s and down’s
We’re gonna stay with you forever
At least until the world stops going ’round

Every day, we’re all gonna say
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds
    Everywhere, we’re gonna be there
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds
    Marching on together
We’re gonna see you win (na, na, na, na, na, na)
    We are so proud
    We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds

    We are so proud
    We shout it out loud
We love you Leeds – Leeds – Leeds

  22. re: the comments about judging this guy by his appearance:

he has a british bulldog tattooed on his face. that’s one step away from a swastika. and not a “happy” swastika either.

  23. # 37, I kinda see your point, but back in the day the british bulldog was used in relation to English football, and not necessarilly in the offensive, racist way it has come to represent because of some idiotic hooligans!
and also in response to #16, im sure this guy is lovely and I am not about to make any judgements about him based on his looks-but I would like to point out that even racists and nazis can be well spoken, well-mannered and friendly, its hard to admit (well for me anyway) but its true.

  24. Now Leeds as a city’s a mighty fine place,
But the fans and the team are a fucking disgrace,
With Bremner and Reaney and Lorimer too,
With their hands down their shorts they’ve got fuck-all to do.

They sing about Munich, they scream and they shout,
They talk about things they know fuck-all about,
In my opinion the Leeds scum should be,
Shovelling shit on the Isle of Capri.

and not forgetting (to the tune of Club biscuits)…

“cos if you follow Leeds United,
then you must be fucking scum…”

  25. 40. Leeds supporters are some of the most passionate football fans. We scream, we shout, we love our club. Other clubs wish they had fans like Leeds.

    Marching on Together!

  26. I think penski has a point. It’s just a bunch of sweaty, excited men chasing balls.

  27. Oh, btw penski, I fixed your post for you…

“American Football is for homosexual sailor cowboys.”

    🙂

  28. Since Leeds is going to be relegated at the end of the season, I trust we’ll be seeing all you boys at the Den?

  29. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter whether this guy is a football hooligan or not. People make assumptions on appearances and therefore most people will assume he is, right or wrong!!

  30. Im just wondering what this geeza will look like when hes sat with his grand kids aged 70

  31. r*d molotov-so good they can’t afford a telephone so we can contact them. typical scum-from nowhere near manchester. they hate us but won’t let it lie.
give me a shout when you go to your first home game and lend you my tomtom. scum

  32. 21 your are right (american/candaian) football is a bastardizing of rugby wich is in tern a violent bastardizing of (soccer) football

  33. this guy spends alot of his time in thailand, ive seen him in samui and phangan. asked why he has so many tattoos hes said he dosent like skin???? mmmmmm

  34. Thanks for writing about this. There’s a mass of good tech info on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your website. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs fairly ongoing, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a big job with this one. How do you do it?
